| I always thought to score Bells and Whistles for live performance, using the song files as starting points for live improvisation with prescribed parameters (i.e., with a series of non-traditional directions instead of staff notation, etc.). With DRAGONS, I wanted to purposefully create something that could be faithfully recreated in terms of tone and timbre. Thus I chose to limit the sounds that I could use, ultimately focusing on piano and percussion. |
